Dashboard size/item count limitation

I'm building a dashboard to monitor synthetics.  For each customer, I show four tiles, each with a custom timeframe (today, 7 days, 30 days, 90 days).

I add new rows by cloning the previous row, then changing the monitor and timeframe in the tile settings.

After adding less than a dozen rows, the "Clone" option no longer works.  Clicking "Clone" simply does nothing.  I've restarted my browser.  I've rebooted my machine.  Nothing.

Have I hit some undocumented limit regarding dashboard size or item count?

As per this other community post there seems to be a maximum size for dahsboards which is 5016. I've tried myself and I get blocked after that number, which is basically 132 of the small squares you see in the dashboard, in both axis:

Thanks for the information, I'm grateful.  If that had been communicated in the UI, I wouldn't have lost hours of work building a dashboard that I can't complete.
