Extensions 2.0 Details

Hello,

We are using 4 active gate extensions to monitor the database queries, SAP ABAP RFC ,Synthetic SSH(Linux Commands), Solaris servers monitor currently in our environment.

Generic DB Query Plugin (version 3.5.3)
Linux Commands (version 1.021)
SAP Application Server (version 1.158)
Remote Unix Monitor (version 1.360)

Do i need to look into building new 2.0 extensions for this? or Dynatrace has any plans creating them in hub 2.0

Thanks,

Hussain

From my own experience. Dynatrace will not migrate the Generic DB Query Plugin (version 3.5.3) to 2.0.

So be ready to create your own. https://community.dynatrace.com/t5/Extensions/Custom-Query-Extension-2-0-Can-I-borrow-yours/td-p/230...

For SAP, I know it is on Roadmap, but there is no ETA yet.

Remote Unix Monitoring 2.0 is already live: https://www.dynatrace.com/hub/detail/remote-unix-monitoring-20/?query=Remote+Unix+Monitoring&filter=...

Linux Commands I am not aware of this.

Hi,

@dannemca is spot on with Generic DB Query and Remote Unix.

Work on migrating the SAP extension is scheduled to start in February, and it is expected to be done by April.

Linux commands is not going to be converted due to security reasons. Instead please run the command on the Linux box in a cronjob or such and send the result directly to the OneAgent: https://docs.dynatrace.com/docs/extend-dynatrace/extend-metrics/ingestion-methods/oneagent-metric-ap...
