Hello all.

I would like to know:

- Are there any risks on the application/services availability once time is enabled RUM ?

- In affirmative case what are those risks and how can we mitigate?

Many Thanks in advance.

Hi @ Jose L.

As documentation says:

In rare circumstances, the Dynatrace RUM JavaScript tag that's injected into each application page can have an adverse impact on application functionality. For this reason, following installation of OneAgent, confirm that your application's pages still render properly. If some of your application's pages appear to be corrupted, disable monitoring and contact a Dynatrace ONE product specialist by clicking the chat button in the upper-right corner of the Dynatrace menu bar.

Personally I would recommend all new Dynatrace Customers purchase the Dynatrace One Package as it provides you with all the resources needed to stand up your instances and support you in any issues you may encounter. You also get a access to live chat support as well as have coaching sessions with a Dynatrace expert on a frequency level you decide. Dynatrace One is hands down, the best support package ive worked with.

With that being said, I have seen issues where RUM/Session Replay and so on have had issues with monitoring very old platforms. But what that being said, its very very easy to shutdown those parts of the oneagent. So in the event you deploy and see an issue, you can respond quickly by disabling the services. And thats where the Dynatrace One Support comes in handy as they will assist you on those issues and setting everything up.
