People.
Strong heroes by day, vulnerable humans by night, or the other way around… Dreamers, realists, skeptics, extroverts, introverts, and those that are challenging to describe. 😉 So different and so similar in a way, we all want to achieve success, feel fulfilled, and be experts in something.

Many users come to the Community to improve their jobs, have a good start, and work better with Dynatrace. To help them achieve it, Dynatrace has a group of brave Customer Success Managers, who ensure success during this journey.

As CSMs are a part of the Community as well, this month, we’re happy to introduce you to one of them – Koen Willekens @kuncarlos and invite you to get to know his colorful personality.

Can you share some details about your past? What is your story, how did it happen that you decided to work in the IT / APM area, and how did you become a Dynatracer?

Story of the Tech-Savvy “belgitano” (belga-gaditano) at Dynatrace

Who am I? Well, picture this: a Flemish/Spanish hybrid raised on pancakes and gazpacho. Growing up in Leuven, Belgium, in a household where the hum of an Olivetti M20 was a daily soundtrack, PCs were as common as morning coffee since the beginning of the 1980s. Little did I realize back then that this childhood fascination wouldn't fade away with time. After wrapping up studies in business administration and marketing in Málaga, I decided to stay in Spain and immerse myself in the culture of my mother´s home country.

The skills learned during those early days—troubleshooting glitches and witnessing the magic of programming - became more than just memories. They evolved into a lifelong passion that shaped the way I approach challenges. My career path had its share of twists, navigating between Support and Sales roles in B2B tech companies. Realizing I was more of a cultivator than a prowler, the Customer Success Manager (CSM) role emerged as the perfect fit. Dynatrace, on the lookout for a CSM, recognized the synergy, and since 2020, I've been riding the Dynatrace wave. It's been a journey filled with constant learning, innovation, and staying at the forefront of the ever-changing tech world. Now, imagine this tech-savvy CSM, donned in his carnival outfit, bringing a byte of humor to a coaching session. Because sometimes, even in the world of bits and bytes, a little carnival spirit can fix everything.

Can you tell us a little bit about your job? What interesting things you’re working on that you can share?

CSM by Day, Newsletter Maestro by Night.

As the Customer Success Manager at Dynatrace, I'm on a perpetual scavenger hunt for the latest features and improvements to share with our customers. On the side, I've moonlighted as the creative force behind our CSM newsletter in the EMEA region, adding a touch of literary flair and bad jokes to my tech-driven days.

New Orleans Dreams and Utopian Hopes.
If my bucket list could speak, it would echo the sounds of New Orleans - the music, the carnival, the vibrant culture. Yet, my ultimate dream reaches beyond personal desires. I hope for a world painted with justice and free of war, fueled by an awareness of the privileges life has granted to me. In the grand scheme, my dreams are woven into the fabric of a happier, healthier world.
